This kid kills me....

We are sitting at Chick-A-Moo so the kids can play while The Hubby has a meeting. I am sitting here playing Pet a Rescue while they play. I have not played in forever because I am stuck on level 604. He notices I need to rescue 10 pets. I say. "I know this level is Impossible! I have been stuck on it forever!" He then says to me "Nothing is impossible if you believe in yourself."  So true, but so funny at the same time.

Product Review: Tens Unit Electronic Pulse Monitor

Right before Princess was born The Hubby hurt his back bowling. He had just gotten a new ball and was practicing during his lunch break. HE moved just the wrong way during a shot and immediately felt the pain. Turns out he had herniated 2 disks and had one bulging. It took a while but with PT he slowly got better. One of his favorite things in PT was when they used an electron tens machine to zap him. One day his back was really bugging him and he was thinking about that wonderful machine. So he decided to see if they sold them in stores. Turns out they do! So he ran down to Walgreen's and got one. As soon as he started it he was in love! This is the one we got and it was worth every penny.

He has used it many times since then and really loves it. He has used it on me a few times too if my back is bugging me. This sucker really zaps you good if you turn it up high enough. It is great for sore muscles where ever you have them. You can get new pads at the store or on Amazon. Of course you should always consult your doctor before using something like this. I could not find the same one on Amazon but this one looks really close. Note: The link below is an affiliate link. My first weekend with a broken foot

So since I broke my foot the day before Thanksgiving no orthopedic doctor could get me in until Monday. So most of the weekend was spent just laying around trying not to hurt myself more.

The Hubby was trying to fix the water heater for me so I could wash my hair without using the electric kettle. He had run to the store to get a part and I saw a puddle on the floor by the sink and hot water heater. So I slid down onto the floor to clean it up. Luckily it wasn't a huge mess and just needed to be cleaned up.

Sadly The Hubby got home with the part we thought it was but it didn't help. He replaced it anyway and removed some other covers looking for what was wrong. He found it all right. See the piece that looks like it has electrical tape on it? Yeah, that is melted wire. Oops. It was getting later in the day so we decided he would go out tomorrow and try and find the parts. This ended up taking a few days but he got it fixed. I am so thankful to have a hubby that is handy.

The hubby went and grabbed lunch while he was at the store too since we needed to grocery shop. He stopped for Chick-Fil-A, or as we call it Chick a moo. Monkey called it that once upon a time since there are cows everywhere and it was so cute it stuck. So years later we still call it that. Anyway, The Boy took his bun off to add more hot sauce to his spicy chicken sandwich and discovered his was int he shape of a heart. Awwww

The Hubby had also rented a gold cart for the weekend. He was like a kid driving all over the campground in that thing. He took the kids on more rides then I could count and I even hobbled out for a few rides. I sat in the golf cart while everyone played at the park. Princess loved riding in it and would yell WHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEE the whole time.

I had to figure out how to make dinner without having to hobble back and forth so we brought in a camp chair so I could sit right next to the oven. Princess of course thought this had to be just for her so often I had to fight her for the chair.

The day two things broke

So the day before Thanksgiving I woke up and went to take a shower. The water was just kinda luke warm. I figured I didn't give the water heater time to heat up or something. I just took a fast shower and waited a bit to wash some dishes. The water was still not hot so I let Eric know it was busted and I got on the computer to google what could be wrong and ask some people on my RV boards on Facebook. He was working so I figured I would try and fix it myself. I'm pretty handy. I went outside to look at the water heater to make sure everything looked fine and release some of the pressure in the release valve. Waited a bit and it was still no go. Checked to see if some things were loose. Nope, everything looked good. Came back in and watched a video on you tube. Stepped back outside to remove a cover like in the video and see what it looked like and boom, I fell off the bottom step.

Now, this isn't a rare occurrence. Me and stairs, or flat pavement for that matter, are not friends. I am a klutz. I am shocked The Hubby even lets me get our of bed when I am pregnant. However this time was different. This time there was some MAJOR pain. I could not get back up. I yelled Owwwww. I yelled for help. I yelled for the hubby who was on the phone with his boss. (Sorry hun, I know bad timing) Thankfully I had not shut the door yet so he heard me just fine (pretty sure some neighbors did too) and I heard him tell his boss. "Sorry I have to go my wife fell. I have to see if she is okay." Yes, I head the tone, lol. Yes it was filled with, Oh God what did she do now? I know the tone. I get the tone often. (See the I am a klutz part above) So The Hubby came out and I of course told him "I've fallen and I can't get up". He helped me up and somehow we managed to get me up the RV steps without me stepping on my foot and then I crawled to the couch. I put my foot up and he got me a nice bag of broccoli rabe for my foot. After a few minutes I tried to wiggle my foot and toes. Yeah, BAD idea. We tossed around the idea of going to ER, Urgent Care, or just waiting and seeing how I was in a few hours. I decided to wait, because when you are a klutz you get used to hurting yourself. Plus the idea of dragging 4 kids to Urgent Care for nothing is not a good one. So about an hour later I looked at my foot and it was a bit swollen but no huge bruising. I still could not move it so we figured we might as well hit urgent care before they closed, being the day before Thanksgiving and all. So it took a LONG time but we finally got me into the van. Did I mention we have a 12 passenger van? Do you know how HIGH up those things are? Yeah, not cool.

We got me to urgent care and I make The Hubby go get me a wheelchair. We get all checked in and they call me back. Cat Boy of course has to go with me because he wants to be sure he doesn't miss anything and also to make sure I am okay. Here is me waiting for them to come get me for my x-ray making a lovely "I gotta BOO BOO!!!" face. Yeah, The Hubby is a lucky man. LOL Also please excuse the outfit....I figured jeans would be a bad thing to wear so I wore The Hubby's sweatpants from when he was in the Navy.
They take me back for x-rays and were really good answering all the questions Cat Boy had about what they were doing and wanting to see at the x-rays. The verdict was I broke the 5th Metatarsal on my right foot. It was a Jones fracture. You know, the rare kind. The kind that is hardest to heal. The one dancers break. I am so NOT a dancer. I am surprised it took me this long to break a bone. So I got all wrapped up. Was given a set up crutches and sent on my way to try and find an orthopedic that would see me the day after Thanksgiving. (There were none) The doctor was nice and took my phone in the other room and took pictures of my x-rays so I could have them.
We got home and I settled on the couch. We still had no hot water and now I was gimpy so I couldn't even go shower int he bathhouse like everyone else could. Though The Hubby seems to think I could of. Yeah, let's have the klutz go take a shower with a broken foot, in a bathhouse all alone. I apparently can not function with two feet and you want me to shower alone with one foot? Yeah, not a good idea.

Welcome to Myrtle Beach

Our next stop was Myrtle Beach. The Hubby wanted some time right on the beach so we headed on down. Here is Princess all ready for the drive.

We choose to stay at Lakewood Camping Resort. The plan was to stay a week but as soon as The Hubby's feet him the sand he decided he wanted to stay a month so I called and changed our reservation with the front desk. Princess has been to the beach a couple times in Maryland but the beach there is mostly shells and she was little. We went to the beach in Virginia Beach once as well but it was really cold that day. So this was her first real, get out and play in the sand and the ocean experience. She LOVED it. She is a huge fan of sand much to my dismay. I am NOT a fan of sand. The boys enjoyed running along the beach, trying to not get wet by the surf (it was an epic fail), and finding shells. They also enjoyed the bird footprints in the sand.

Of course the first morning there I had to make them waffles since they were now used to them every morning. Though I couldn't really complain about my view from the kitchen window. Though a little sun would have been nice.

Not long after breakfast everyone wanted to head out to the park and beach. It rained off and on our first couple days there but if it wasn't raining you could be sure that someone wanted to go to the beach or play at the park.

Raleigh Oaks RV Resort

Raleigh Oaks RV Resort was a wonderful first stop. It was brand new so everything was in great condition and they were still improving it while we are there. They have two pools and a hot tub. The hot tub is heated but the pools are NOT. They also have a court for pickleball (whatever that is), mini golf, a playground, and some other games.

The Hubby really enjoyed their meeting room. There is a kitchen in there, a big TV, a couple couches, and some recliners. He would sometimes go up there to work. One night we brought the PlayStation in there, ordered a pizza, and had a movie night. You can see Princess enjoyed the recliners too. They also have a room with a pool table he enjoyed.

The bathrooms were very nice and kept very clean. The Hubby and The Boy enjoyed many a nice long, hot shower in them. They are also private with each bathroom having a toilet and shower.

There are 2 laundry rooms. One in the front of the park, and one in the back. They were kept clean and all the machines worked. The first loads I did the water lines were mixed so my cold wash was hot and my hot was cold but they quickly fixed it when I let them know.

Breakfast was included every morning. Waffles!!!! Nothing better then a nice hot breakfast made by someone else (and cleaned up by them). The first day we went and noticed Monkey could not eat the waffles. The mix was not safe for nut allergies due to being made in the same facility as nut products. A few days later a staff member let me know they bought a new mix so he could eat them. I was sooooo happy and so was he. That gave them 5 stars in my book.

Internet was good as well. They have free wi-fi internet or you could upgrade to a hardwire line which was a nice option. The sites come with cable as well. They also have cabins that you can rent or visitors can rent when coming to visit you. You can see some in the pretty sunset picture I took from our site. We had one of the premium sites which were on the outside. They were very long and had a lot of space. The inside spots were a really good size as well. You can see one of the laundry room and bathroom buildings off in the distance of the picture of us in the spot.

Overall this was a great RV park. We recommend it highly and would absolutely stay there again.
